Xbox Live launched for Windows Phone 7
We’ve known that proper Xbox Live gaming (powered by XNA) was coming to Windows Phone 7 devices, but we’d yet to see any of that thumb-spraining goodness in action besides a brief demo and a few developer videos. Well, Microsoft has finally come clean with details about its launch strategy for the platform, and from where we sit, it’s definitely looking pretty promising.
First off, the company has announced a full list of launch titles for WP7 handsets, including some familiar names and franchises like Castlevania, Halo: Waypoint, Star Wars, Crackdown, and Guitar Hero, alongside a handful of newer properties like the ultra-cute ilomilo, produced in-house by Microsoft Game Studios.

Sony unveils its PS3 motion controller – Move
Sony unveiled Move, its motion controller, at a press conference during GDC in San Francisco on Wednesday. SAN FRANCISCO–Sony on Wednesday unveiled Move, its motion-sensitive controller.
A small device that looks like a microphone–but with something on top of it that looks like a ping pong ball with an LED inside–Move is Sony’s bid to gain control over the motion controller wars that are currently led by Nintendo, with its Wii controller, and which many think will be dominated by Microsoft and its Project Natal controller system.

PlayStation 3 to win console war in the end

Even though Sony’s PlayStation 3 is far behind both the Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 in console sales, analysts at Strategy Analytics contend that when all is said and done, Sony will sell more consoles than its competitors.
In a report titled, “Taming the Waves: Games Console Life Cycles and Platform Competition,” analysts from Strategic Analytics said the PlayStation 3 will have a much longer shelf life than current market leader the Nintendo Wii.
In fact, the analyst firm claims that the PS3 will be a “commercial platform five years after the Wii has been replaced.” Because of that, it believes that lifetime PS3 sales will hit 127 million units, while Nintendo will sell a grand total of 103 million Wii units.

Comming soon 3D Update for PS3
Sony is readying itself to roll out an update to current PlayStation 3 games console owners to allow them to take advantage of the new Full HD 3D TVs and 3D programming that are about to launch.
“PS3 users worldwide will only need to upgrade the PS3 system software via the internet and there is no need to repurchase the system to enjoy 3D games,” said Nainan Shah, vice-president of new platform, planning and development at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, the branch of Sony under which the PlayStation falls.
Next month, Sky will launch its 3D schedule while BSkyB and others have also announced plans to provide 3D programming in the coming months. Sony says that the PS3 console requires only an over-the-air update in order to enable 3D, since the necessary HDMI port is already present and the console uses the Cell processor. No additional outlay is required by the console owner.
The same processor is found in Toshiba’s cutting-edge Cell TV. The Cell processor is important, says Sony, because of its ability to use software to decode images. Updated software will therefore be capable of decoding new formats.

Heavy Rain (PS3) – a masterpiece

‘Heavy Rain’ is almost impossible to review. Never before has a video game been this detailed, immersive and multi layered. This is not a game for the FPS lovers, there aren’t any boss battles with monsters like in God of War, but like that game there are action sequences in Heavy Rain that happen in real time. Its all about making decisions, and soaking in the consequences.
