Xbox Live launched for Windows Phone 7

We’ve known that proper Xbox Live gaming (powered by XNA) was coming to Windows Phone 7 devices, but we’d yet to see any of that thumb-spraining goodness in action besides a brief demo and a few developer videos. Well, Microsoft has finally come clean with details about its launch strategy for the platform, and from where we sit, it’s definitely looking pretty promising.

First off, the company has announced a full list of launch titles for WP7 handsets, including some familiar names and franchises like Castlevania, Halo: Waypoint, Star Wars, Crackdown, and Guitar Hero, alongside a handful of newer properties like the ultra-cute ilomilo, produced in-house by Microsoft Game Studios.

Mobile Review: Samsung S8500 Wave

The Samsung S8500 Wave is the first smartphone to sport the brand new Bada mobile OS.

Salient Features:
* Vibrant Super AMOLED Display
* Responsive Touch UI
* Wi-Fi, 3G and GPS Support
* Good Camera
* Very Good Music Playback

The S8500 Wave represents a bold move from Samsung. Instead of coming out with another smartphone based on Symbian, Android or Windows Mobile, Samsung decided that through the Wave they would debut their very own OS- Bada (and not just a UI like TouchWIZ).

Although, with all the various mobile OSes floating about, what we needed least was another OS fragmenting the smartphone ecosystem, Bada seems determined to impress and so does the Samsung Wave.

Sprint Samsung Epic 4G coming soon

The wait for Samsung Epic 4G is almost over. Sprint announced late Wednesday evening that its second 4G smartphone will be available on August 31 for $249.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. The carrier will take preorders starting August 13 through an online reservation process.

Android-running Samsung I5801 Galaxy 3 taped on video

Partial specs of the next-gen Galaxy leaked a few days back and now we get to enjoy its first appearance on video. Unlike the Galaxy S, which packs top notch features, the I5801 is positioned in a lower class and covers the bare minimum of features (in smartphone terms).

Unfortunately, the big question on the I5801 / I5800 screen resolution remains unanswered. However, as the video reveals, it seems lower than the HVGA display resolution of the I5700 Galaxy Spica. Read more »

Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica launched in India

Samsung has launched its new Google Android powered smartphone, the Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica in India. Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700 is powered by an 800MHz CPU and Android 1.5 (Cupcake).

The Galaxy Spica features 3.2 inch HVGA TFT touchscreen display, 3 mega-pixel camera, an internal memory of 180 MB, expandable memory up to 32 GB. the new phone comes with a slim design being only 13.2 mm thick. The Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica also features quad band GSM / EDGE / HSDPA connectivity, built in GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi and a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 1500mAh battery.

The Galaxy Spica offers users access to the full suite of Google Mobile Services, including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Calendar, GTalk and other applications and games available in the Android Market. The Spica will also support Microsoft ActiveSync that makes it easy to synchronize e-mail between the smart phone and a PC. The Spica will also be the first Android handset to include support for DivX video playback and also has Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor and Digital Compass.

The Samsung Galaxy Spica is priced at Rs. 14750.
