Finepix Real 3D camera from Fujifilm

FUJIFILM North America Corporation today announced a new addition to its FinePix REAL 3D system – the FinePix REAL 3D W3 digital camera. The FinePix REAL 3D W3 steps it up from its predecessor with the ability to shoot high-resolution 3D photos and movies in 3D HD at 720p, with the help of a new RP (Real Photo) Processor.

Mobile Review: Samsung S8500 Wave

The Samsung S8500 Wave is the first smartphone to sport the brand new Bada mobile OS.

Salient Features:
* Vibrant Super AMOLED Display
* Responsive Touch UI
* Wi-Fi, 3G and GPS Support
* Good Camera
* Very Good Music Playback

The S8500 Wave represents a bold move from Samsung. Instead of coming out with another smartphone based on Symbian, Android or Windows Mobile, Samsung decided that through the Wave they would debut their very own OS- Bada (and not just a UI like TouchWIZ).

Although, with all the various mobile OSes floating about, what we needed least was another OS fragmenting the smartphone ecosystem, Bada seems determined to impress and so does the Samsung Wave.

Apple iPad hands-on review

The Apple iPad is an unprecedented device. It doesn’t shoot rainbows or make puppies, but this roughly 8×10-inch tablet computer melds your laptop, smartphone, gaming console, and iPod into a single, affordable, unfortunately named thing.

Of course, we come to you with a standard list of complaints. The absence of an integrated video camera puts the kibosh on any hope of using the iPad for video chats, and without Flash video support, many Web pages look like Swiss cheese. But the biggest problem with the device is coming up with bullet-proof reasons to buy one.

Because the iPad is an entirely new class of device, you’ll probably need to lie to yourself a little to justify the purchase. But at this point, any CNET readers worth their salt have mastered the art of making excuses to buy new gadgets.

Sharp Unveils 3-D Screens For Mobile Devices

For all the 3-D aficionados out there, there’s both good and bad news. Japanese electronics giant Sharp Corp showed off its liquid crystal screens today for mobile devices. Its 3-D displays offer bright, clear images without the need for those annoying glasses generally required for such technology. And the bad news: They only work on a 7.5 cm (3″) screen held 30 cm (12″) from the user’s face.

These LCD screens for mobile handsets showed 3-D animation, touch-panel screens that swivelled from one 3-D photo to another and a display wired to a 3-D video camera.

8 Best Twitter and Facebook Add-Ons

twitterBy no means are Twitter and Facebook perfect: You might wish that Facebook made it more intuitive to hide FarmVille or certain status updates. Or, maybe you wish that Twitter would introduce a new feature like nested tweets. Good news: For many of these website tweaks or suggestions, there’s likely to be a script you can download to fit the bill.

Here are my top eight picks for Facebook and Twitter add-ons. Many of these solve common user gripes (such as not knowing to what site shortened URLs will bring you on Twitter). Some, like “Facebook Fixer,” enhance the site and allow you to customize it beyond standard options. Do note that most of these scripts require that you first download Greasemonkey, and not all are compatible with every browser, so be sure to check the requirements before you download a script.
