Nokia unveiled the 3710 Fold, a new compact clamshell that adds a personal touch with artistic patterns on the cover.

“There is a solid demand for good-looking, intuitive and easy-to-use handsets with modern features,” said Markku Suomi, Nokia’s Vice President. “The Nokia 3710 fold packs in a renewed, but instantly familiar user interface that makes the appealing array of features enjoyable to use, offering great value for money.”

The Nokia 3710 has a 2.2-inch main screen with 320×240 resolution and a 128×160-pixel TFT external display. There’s a 3.2 megapixel “full focus” camera with Flash, a secondary video camera, microSD expandable memory, Bluetooth, a multimedia player and an FM radio.

The phone weighs 94 grams, 89 mm tall, 47 mm wide, and 15.2 mm thick. Nokia say that the relatively small 860 mAh battery can give the 3710 up to 3 hours talktime on 3G and 4 hours on GSM.

The 3710 Fold still comes with a web browser, standard email client, photo gallery and a multimedia player. There is a built-in GPS sensor that can provide navigation information via Nokia Maps or other applications offered at the Ovi Store. An XHTML web browser lets users access the Internet via 3G networks.

It will be available in black, pink and plum color; the 3710 fold will cost $220 and is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2009.
