Epson, today announced that it has begun volume production of two recently developed high-temperature polysilicon (HTPS) TFT liquid crystal panels for 3LCD projectors; a 0.94-inch panel capable of WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) resolution, believed to be the first HTPS-TFT panel in the world* to do so, and a new 0.95-inch panel that supports WXGA (1280 x 800 pixels) resolution.

epson-c2-fine-panelsThe new panels support high brightness (5000 lumens or more) as a result of the higher aperture ratios achieved by Epson’s D7 process technology, while Epson’s C2 Fine inorganic alignment layer technology is used to provide higher than ever contrast. These panels provide the means to create versatile 3LCD projectors suited to a wide range of uses and venues, most notably the projection of high-definition moving images on large screens in auditoriums and at events.

Programmers at WWDC got the latest version of Snow Leopard on a DVD, but now the same build (10a380) is available on Bittorrent. The build is 5.84GB and will require a dual layer DVD burner to install. Apple said on Monday the developer build of Snow Leopard is “near complete,” but will likely see extensive changes amidst now and September, when it will be officially released.

Likewise, the final version of the iPhone 3.0 OS — which will be available officially next week on June 17 — can be downloaded from the file-sharing networks. And for some inexplicable reason, the software supports tethering.

The Samsung i8000 – aka the  Omnia 2 – has had its precious specs leaked all over the internet, and very nice it looks too.

The Samsung i8000 is still officially under wraps, but a careless online retailer in Lithuania may have leaked the details of the successor to the Omnia i900. Contrary to previous rumours, this Omnia will be rocking Windows Mobile, not Android, or even Symbian OS.

According to the leak, the Ominia i8000 will sport a 3.7 inch WVGA resistive touchscreen (not an OLED like the Omnia Pro, alas) and will come equipped with an 8.1 megapixel camera with duel LED flash and video recording at 30 frames per second. The usual 3G, Bluetooth and wifi are complemented by native DivX for playing movies on that nice big screen.
