Cisco announces a new router

On Tuesday the company announced the CRS-3, its next-generation Internet router for the world’s largest Internet service providers. Cisco may have overhyped the announcement just a tad. After a two-week countdown to an announcement that it said would “forever change the Internet,” the company unveiled what looks like an upgrade to its existing “core” router called the CRS-1.

While the hype machine may have failed to deliver something truly revolutionary, Cisco’s announcement is still significant. The new router offers 12 times the traffic capacity than its older-generation routers offer. It’s three times faster than the older CRS-1, which was introduced in 2004. And it can handle 322 terabits of traffic per second, or simultaneous video calls for every person in China, the company said.

he popular microblogging site Twitter was hacked briefly by a group calling itself the Iranian Cyber Army, but the site was quickly restored after the incident early Friday.Those who tried to access Twitter were redirected to a site displaying a green flag and proclaiming, in English, “This site has been hacked by Iranian Cyber Army.” The group’s Web address was provided.

Arabic writing in blue said, “Hezbollah is victorious,” and a message on the flag said, “Ya Hussein,” referring to Prophet Mohammed’s grandson.

The United States and Israel categorize Hezbollah, a political party in Lebanon, as a terrorist organization. Read more »

War of the words aren’t just limited to Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities – the flaming happens even with honchos of tech giants like Google and Microsoft.

In a recent development, Asa Dotzler, who is the Director of Community Development of Mozilla asked users to leave Google and switch to Microsoft’s Bing search engine. Sharing my google wave experience, anyone want invitation?

About a month back I requested one of my online friend an invitation to try out Google Wave. Yesterday I was happy to see an email regarding my invitation to preview Google Wave.

To accept the invitation, I just had to click on a link in the email which brings me to wave.google.com. After that I proceeded to sign in excitedly using my gmail account.
